Warts

Warts are common skin growths caused by the HPV virus. They are commonly found on the hands, feet and groin area. Warts often occur during childhood but can occur at any age. Their growth and spread can occur quickly, and warts can be characterized by red dots or bleeding. Dr. Moore can work with you to provide a customized treatment plan for your skin lesions including topical creams, cryosurgery or laser treatment.

Moles

Moles are common skin growths that are brown or black and develop mostly during childhood. Although most moles develop during the first few years of life, it can be normal to develop new moles up until the age of 25. We encourage patients to have their moles checked annually to assure that they have not transformed into a dangerous skin cancer called Melanoma.

It is believed that approximately 25% of melanoma skin cancers originate from moles, which have transformed. Dr. Moore utilizes dermoscopy to detect skin cancer, which is the skilled use of noninvasive magnification and light to examine skin lesions. She is highly skilled in the practice of dermoscopy and has taught many other dermatologists in this practice. It is important that you have your skin examined under dermoscopy as that increases the likelihood that your skin cancer will be detected and treated early.

Sometimes moles can be completely normal but can be in a site that is uncomfortable or unsightly. Luxe Dermatology offers cosmetic removal of moles. Please come see us for assessment and specific pricing for this procedure.
